Connections
The device includes 1 x 10-bit SD/HD switchable SDI video output and 1 x HDMI 2.0 type A connector for HDMI output. SDI video rates are supported at 270Mb, 1.5G, and 3G. For audio, it supports 16 channels embedded in SDI and 8 channels embedded in HDMI.

Computer Interface
UltraStudio Monitor 3G connects via Thunderbolt™ 3 and is compatible with macOS, Windows, and Linux systems.

Supported Codecs
Supported codecs include AVC-Intra, AVCHD, Canon XF MPEG2, Digital SLR, DV-NTSC, DV-PAL, DVCPRO50, DVCPROHD, DPX, HDV, HEVC, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD, XDCAM HD422, DNxHR & DNxHD, Apple ProRes (all variants), and uncompressed 8-bit/10-bit 4:2:2 and 10-bit 4:4:4 formats.

Software
Included software: Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility, and drivers for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Firmware is embedded and updates are applied via driver at startup or using updater software.

Supported Software Applications
Works with popular applications such as DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Avid Media Composer, Fusion, After Effects, Photoshop, Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, and many others including OBS, vMix, Wirecast, and third-party CG and playback systems.

SDI Video Standards
SDI supports SD formats (525i59.94 NTSC, 625i50 PAL) and HD formats (720p50/59.94/60; 1080p23.98 to 1080p60; 1080i50/59.94/60; 1080PsF23.98 to PsF30). Also supports 2K DCI standards at frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps in both progressive and PsF.

SDI Compliance and Metadata
Compliant with SMPTE 259M, 274M, 296M, 424M, 425M A/B, and ST2108-1. Supports RP 188/SMPTE 12M-2 and closed captioning. SDI audio sampling is 48kHz/24-bit; video sampling supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, with color precision at 8, 10, or 12-bit RGB or YUV, and color space coverage of REC 601, 709, and 2020. HDR support includes metadata packing, HLG, and PQ.

HDMI Video Standards
HDMI supports the same SD/HD formats as SDI. HDMI sampling and color precision includes 10/12-bit RGB 4:4:4, 8-bit RGB 4:4:4, and 12-bit YUV 4:2:2. HDMI 2.0a supports Deep Color and HDR, auto-configures to display, and supports REC 601, 709, and 2020 color spaces. HDR support includes metadata packing, HLG, and PQ.

Multiple Rate Support
Both SDI and HDMI connections are switchable between standard definition and high definition.

Hardware Frame Buffer
Supports v210 (10-bit YUV), 2vuy (8-bit YUV), ARGB, BGRA (8-bit RGB), r210 (10-bit RGB), and R12B/R12L (12-bit RGB).

Processing and Real-Time Effects
Real-time hardware color space conversion is supported. Compatible with internal real-time effects in DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro (Mercury Playback), and Avid Media Composer.

Physical Installation
