Connections

The Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 12G features one 12G-SDI input with automatic switching for SD, HD, 2K, and 4K formats, along with a 12G-SDI loop output. It includes one HDMI 2.0 Type-A connector supporting up to 2160p60 output. For audio, the unit provides two professional balanced analog audio outputs via XLR connectors, with the right XLR configurable for timecode output. Additionally, there are four channels of professional 110Ω balanced digital audio output through XLR connectors, also with timecode configuration capability. Embedded audio supports up to eight channels. The device supports multiple SDI rates including 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G, and offers configuration and update options via USB or Ethernet. Reclocking is supported for improved signal integrity.

SDI Compliance includes SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M, 424M, 425M Level A/B, 2081-1/10, and 2082-1/10. The unit supports both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 video sampling with YUV and RGB color spaces, as well as 33-point LUT loading via Teranex Utility.

HDMI Output Standards mirror the SDI standards, with support for REC 601 and REC 709 color spaces. HDMI color precision is YUV 4:2:2 for HD, 2K, and 4K outputs, with the option to load a 33-point LUT for color calibration.

Software and Control

Software control is available for both Mac™ and Windows™ platforms via USB or Ethernet. Internal software updates are handled using the included updater application. Basic settings can be adjusted through mini switches, USB, or Ethernet using the free software utility. For enhanced control, an optional front-mounted Smart Panel with LCD, rotary knob, and six function buttons can be added.

Power Requirements

The device includes a built-in international AC power supply with an IEC C14 inlet, supporting an operational voltage range of 100–240V AC. It can also be powered via 48V DC using PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). Power consumption is 16 watts.

Environmental Specifications

The Teranex Mini SDI to HDMI 12G operates in temperatures from 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F) and can be stored at temperatures from -20° to 60°C (-4° to 140°F). It supports relative humidity from 0% to 90%, non-condensing.
