Connections

The Teranex Mini SDI to Analog 12G features a single 12G-SDI input with automatic switching between SD, HD, 2K, and 4K formats. It includes a 12G-SDI loop output for signal pass-through. For analog output, it provides Composite, Y/C, or Component video connections. Audio outputs include two channels of professional balanced analog audio via XLR connectors, with the right XLR configurable for timecode output, as well as four channels of professional 110Ω balanced digital audio via XLR, with the right XLR also configurable for timecode. Embedded audio support extends up to 16 channels. Updates and configuration can be carried out via USB or Ethernet, and the device supports multi-rate operation. SDI reclocking is included for improved signal integrity.

Supported Video Standards

In SD formats, the unit supports 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL. For HD formats, it handles 720p at 50, 59.94, and 60 fps; 1080i at 50, 59.94, and 60 fps; 1080p at frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps; and 1080PsF at frame rates from 23.98 to 30 fps. In 2K DCI, it supports progressive and PsF at 23.98, 24, and 25 fps. Ultra HD formats include 2160p from 23.98 up to 60 fps, while 4K DCI is supported at 23.98, 24, and 25 fps.

SDI Compliance and Video Processing

The unit is compliant with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M, 424M, and 425M (level A and B), as well as SMPTE 2081-1/10 and 2082-1/10 standards. SDI video connections automatically switch between SD, HD (level A and B 3G-SDI), 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI. Video sampling supports both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 formats, with audio sampling at a television standard of 48 kHz and 24-bit precision. SDI color precision is available in both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, with YUV color space supported.

Analog Output Standards

Analog video output supports 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL, with color spaces in REC 601 and REC 709. Color precision includes YUV 4:2:2 and RGB 4:4:4 in HD, 2K, and 4K formats. The unit also offers HD down-conversion capabilities for flexibility when working with mixed-format workflows.

Software and Control

Software control is available for both Mac™ and Windows™, with updates provided via USB or Ethernet using the included updater application. Compatible operating systems include macOS 10.15 Catalina, macOS 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit). Basic settings can be adjusted through mini switches, USB, or Ethernet via the free software utility. An optional front-mounted Smart Panel with LCD, rotary knob, and six settings buttons can be added for direct control.

Power Requirements

The Teranex Mini SDI to Analog 12G includes a built-in international AC power supply with IEC C14 inlet, supporting 100-240V AC input. Power over Ethernet (PoE+) is also supported via 48V DC. The device consumes 16 watts of power and operates within a voltage range of 100-240V AC.

Environmental Specifications

Operating temperature ranges from 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F), while storage temperature ranges from -20° to 60°C (-4° to 140°F). Relative humidity is supported from 0% to 90% non-condensing.
