Connections

The Teranex Mini Optical to HDMI 12G offers versatile connectivity options. It includes 1 x 12G-SDI input with automatic switching for SD, HD, 2K, and 4K formats. For optical workflows, it supports an optional 3G, 6G, or 12G-SDI single-mode 1310 nm SFP module with LC connector, along with 1 x 12G-SDI optical fiber input and 1 x 12G-SDI optical fiber loop output for pass-through capabilities. Video output is provided through 1 x HDMI 2.0 type A connector supporting up to 2160p60 resolution.
On the audio side, it includes 2 channels of professional balanced analog audio via XLR connectors (right XLR configurable for timecode output) and 4 channels of professional 110Ω balanced digital audio via XLR connectors (right XLR configurable for timecode output). The unit supports 8 channels of embedded audio. Updates and configuration can be performed via USB or Ethernet, and it includes full SDI reclocking for signal integrity.

SDI Specifications

The device is compliant with industry standards including SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M, 424M, 425M level A & B, 2081-1, 2081-10, 2082-1, and 2082-10. SDI connections can be switched between standard definition, high definition (level A and B 3G-SDI), 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI.
It supports 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 video sampling, 48 kHz / 24-bit audio sampling, and both YUV and RGB color spaces.

  The HDMI output supports REC 601 and REC 709 color spaces with YUV 4:2:2 precision in HD, 2K, and 4K. Additionally, a 33-point LUT can be loaded via the Teranex Utility for precise color management.

Software & Control

The Teranex Mini Optical to HDMI 12G supports Mac and Windows software control via USB or Ethernet. Internal software upgrades are handled through the included updater application. Basic settings can be controlled via mini switches, USB, or Ethernet using the free software utility. For advanced operation, an optional front-mounted Smart Panel with LCD, rotary knob, and six settings buttons can be added.

Power Requirements

The unit features a built-in international AC power supply with IEC C14 inlet, supporting 100 – 240V AC input. It can also be powered via 48V DC using PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). The device consumes 16 Watts of power.

Environmental Specifications

Operating temperature ranges from 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F), with storage temperatures between -20° to 60°C (-4° to 140°F). The converter operates in relative humidity levels from 0% to 90% non-condensing.
