Connections
The Teranex Mini Audio to SDI 12G features 1 x 12G-SDI input with auto-switching for SD, HD, 2K, and 4K formats, along with 1 x 12G-SDI output for high-quality video signal pass-through. Analog audio inputs include 2 channels of professional balanced analog audio via XLR connectors, or 2 channels of unbalanced analog line-level audio via RCA connectors. The right XLR connector can be configured as a timecode input. Digital audio inputs support 4 channels of professional 110Ω balanced audio via XLR connectors, with the right XLR also configurable for timecode. An optical audio input is available for S/PDIF signals via a TOSLINK connector. The unit supports up to 16 channels of embedded audio. Multi-rate support allows automatic switching between SD, HD, 2K, and 4K formats. Updates and configuration can be performed via USB or Ethernet, and the unit includes SDI reclocking for optimal signal integrity.

Standards
The converter supports a wide range of video formats.

• SD Video Standards: 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL.

• HD Video Standards: 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60; 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60; 1080p23.98 to 1080p60; and PsF formats from 23.98 to 30 fps.

• 2K Video Standards: 2Kp23.98 DCI to 2Kp25 DCI and PsF equivalents.

• Ultra HD Video Standards: 2160p23.98 to 2160p60.

• 4K Video Standards: 4Kp23.98 DCI to 4Kp25 DCI.

SDI Performance
The device is compliant with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M, 424M, 425M level A and B, 2081-1, 2081-10, 2082-1, and 2082-10 standards. SDI video connections support auto-switching between SD, 1.5G-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI. Video sampling is available in both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 formats. Audio sampling meets the television standard of 48 kHz at 24-bit depth. The SDI auto-switching function ensures compatibility with multiple formats, while color precision supports YUV 4:2:2 and RGB 4:4:4 in HD, 2K, and 4K resolutions. Supported color spaces include REC 601 and REC 709.

Software
Software control is available for Mac™ and Windows™ platforms, with upgrades performed via USB or Ethernet. Internal software updates are managed through the included updater application. Supported operating systems include Mac 10.15 Catalina, Mac 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit).

Control Options
Basic settings can be managed through mini switches, USB, or Ethernet via the free software utility. An optional front panel control, featuring an LCD, rotary knob, and six settings buttons, provides convenient direct configuration.

Power Requirements
The unit includes a built-in international AC power supply with an IEC C14 inlet, supporting a 100–240V AC operational voltage range. It can also be powered via 48V DC using PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). Power consumption is rated at 16 Watts.

Environmental Specifications
The operating temperature range is 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F), with a storage temperature range of -20° to 60°C (-4° to 140°F). The relative humidity tolerance is 0% to 90% non-condensing.
