Connections

The Teranex Mini Analog to SDI 12G features two 12G-SDI video outputs for high-speed, high-quality transmission. It supports composite, Y/C (S-Video), or component analog video inputs, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of analog sources. For audio, it offers two channels of professional balanced analog audio via XLR connectors, with the right XLR configurable for timecode input. Additionally, there are four channels of professional 110Ω balanced digital audio via XLR connectors, also allowing the right XLR to be configured for timecode. The SDI output can be switched between HD for composite/S-Video and Ultra HD for component HD sources. Updates and configurations can be managed via USB or Ethernet, and reclocking is supported for signal integrity.

Standards

This converter supports a variety of broadcast standards.
SD Video Standards: 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL.
HD Video Standards: 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60; 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60; 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p50, 1080p59.94.
Ultra HD Video Standards: 2160p25, 2160p29.97, 2160p50, 2160p59.94.

It complies with SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 292M, SMPTE 296M, SMPTE 424M, SMPTE 2081-1, SMPTE 2081-10, SMPTE 2082-1, and SMPTE 2082-10 standards. SDI video connections can be switched between standard definition and high definition.

Video and Audio Processing

The unit supports SDI video sampling in both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 formats, along with television-standard 48 kHz, 24-bit audio sampling. It offers YUV 4:2:2 and RGB 4:4:4 color precision in HD, 2K, and 4K, and supports REC 601 and REC 709 color spaces. For analog video, it supports 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL standards, with 4:2:2 color precision and REC 601/REC 709 color spaces.

Software and Control

The Teranex Mini can be controlled and updated using Mac™ and Windows™ software via USB and Ethernet connections. Internal software upgrades are done through the included updater application. Basic settings can be adjusted through mini switches, USB, or Ethernet using the free software utility. For enhanced control, an optional front-mounted Smart Panel with LCD, rotary knob, and six settings buttons is available.

Power Requirements

The device includes a built-in international AC power supply with an IEC C14 inlet (IEC power cable required) and supports 100–240V AC input. It can also be powered via 48V DC using PoE+ (Power over Ethernet). Power consumption is 16 watts with an operational voltage range of 100–240V AC.

Environmental Specifications

The Teranex Mini operates in temperatures ranging from 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F) and can be stored between -20° and 60°C (-4° to 140°F). It functions in 0% to 90% non-condensing relative humidity.
