The Teranex Mini 12G-SDI to Quad SDI features a single 12G-SDI video input supporting SD, HD, 2K, and 4K formats with automatic switching. It provides four 3G-SDI outputs and one 12G-SDI loop output, along with embedded audio support for up to 16 channels. The device includes automatic multi-rate support for SD/HD/2K and 4K signals, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of formats. Updates and configuration can be carried out via USB or Ethernet, and the unit supports reclocking for optimal signal integrity.

In terms of supported video standards, it handles SD formats including 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL. HD standards include 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60, 1080p23.98 through 1080p60, as well as 1080PsF variants. For 2K, it supports 2Kp23.98 DCI, 2Kp24 DCI, 2Kp25 DCI, and corresponding PsF formats. Ultra HD is supported up to 2160p60, while 4K DCI is supported up to 4Kp25. Compliance includes SMPTE standards such as 259M, 292M, 296M, 372M, 424M, 425M level A/B, 2081, and 2082 series. Video sampling is available in both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4, with YUV and RGB color spaces, and audio is sampled at a standard 48 kHz/24-bit rate.

Software control is available via Mac and Windows applications, with upgrades managed through USB or Ethernet. Internal software updates are supported via the included updater application. The unit is compatible with macOS 10.15 Catalina, macOS 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit). Basic settings can be adjusted via mini switches, USB, or Ethernet using the free utility, while an optional front-mounted Smart Panel provides an LCD display, rotary knob, and six function buttons for more intuitive control.

The power system includes a built-in international AC supply with IEC C14 inlet, supporting an operational voltage range of 100–240V AC. It can also be powered via PoE+ (48V DC). Power consumption is rated at 16 watts. Environmental specifications include an operating temperature range of 0° to 40°C, storage temperature from –20° to 60°C, and humidity tolerance of 0% to 90% non-condensing.
