Connections

The Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G features 1 SD, HD, or 12G-SDI video input and 1 optical fiber input. The SDI video output automatically matches the SD, HD, or 12G-SDI input on the optical fiber. It includes an optional SMPTE optical fiber SFP socket (SFP module sold separately). The optical fiber video input supports 10-bit SD/HD/12G-SDI switching, while the output automatically matches the video input format. Both optical fiber audio input and output support 16 channels of embedded audio. Multi-rate support allows automatic detection of SD, HD, or 12G-SDI, and reclocking is also supported for signal integrity.

Supported Standards
For SD video, the converter supports 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL formats. HD video formats include 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, 1080p23.98 to 1080p60, along with 1080PsF and interlaced modes. It supports 2K DCI formats at 23.98p, 24p, and 25p (including PsF variants), Ultra HD at up to 2160p60, and 4K DCI up to 25p. The device complies with SMPTE standards such as 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, 425M, ST-2081, ITU-R BT.656, ITU-R BT.601, and SMPTE 297M for optical fiber SDI. SDI video inputs automatically detect SD, HD, 3G-SDI level A or B, 6G-SDI, and 12G-SDI formats.

Video and Audio Specifications
SDI video sampling is supported in both 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 formats, with YUV and RGB color spaces. The SDI audio sampling uses a 48 kHz, 24-bit standard for television production. The device supports automatic switching between SD, HD, and 12G-SDI formats and is also compatible with ASI signal formats.

Operating System Compatibility
The Mini Converter Optical Fiber 12G works with Mac OS X 10.15 Catalina, macOS 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit).

Power Requirements
The unit includes a +12V universal power supply with international socket adapters and a cable tie point. It operates with a low power consumption of just 2 watts and supports an operational voltage range between 6V and 36V DC.
