Connections

The Micro Converter SDI to HDMI 12G wPSU features one SDI video input and one SDI loop output. It provides a single HDMI 2.0 Type-A video output. The converter supports SDI rates of 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G, with automatic detection for SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD, and 4K formats. Configuration, updates, and power are managed via a USB Type-C connection.

Video Standards and Formats

For standard definition, the converter supports 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL formats. In HD, it supports resolutions including 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, as well as 1080p in frame rates from 23.98 up to 60fps, 1080PsF at 25, 29.97, and 30fps, and 1080i at 50, 59.94, and 60fps.
2K DCI formats are supported in progressive frame rates from 23.98 to 60fps, as well as PsF 25, 29.97, and 30fps. Ultra HD formats include 2160p from 23.98 to 60fps, while 4K DCI formats are supported in both progressive and high frame rate modes up to 60fps.

Compliance and Color Processing

The unit complies with SMPTE standards including 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, 425M, 2081-1, 2081-10, 2082-1, 2082-10, 2084, and 2108-1. SDI video rates are switchable between standard definition, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 2K DCI, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI. Both SDI and HDMI outputs operate in 4:2:2 YUV color space, with the option to load a 33-point LUT for color calibration or image enhancement. The converter automatically detects SD and HD (Level A or B for 3G-SDI) as well as 2K DCI, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI signals.

HDMI Output Standards

The HDMI output supports the same wide range of formats as SDI, including SD, HD, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI, with frame rates from 23.98 to 60fps. It also supports 4:2:2 YUV color precision and LUT-based calibration for improved display accuracy.

Control and Software

Settings can be managed using the MacOS™ or Windows™ software utility via USB. The internal software can be upgraded through the USB interface, ensuring compatibility with the latest features and standards.

Power Requirements

The converter is powered by a +5V universal power supply, which is included along with international socket adapters suitable for most countries. It has a maximum power consumption of 4W and an operational voltage range between 4.4V and 5.25V DC.

Environmental Specifications

The operating temperature range is 0° to 40° C (32° to 104° F), with storage temperatures from -20° to 60° C (-4° to 140° F). The unit supports a relative humidity range of 0% to 90% non-condensing.
