Connections

The Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 3G wPSU features two SDI video outputs compatible with SD, HD, or 3G-SDI signals, automatically matching the HDMI input. It includes one HDMI Type A input and supports auto detection for SD or HD formats. A USB Type-C port is provided for updates, configuration, and power. The device also includes SDI reclocking for maintaining optimal signal quality.

Video Standards and Compliance

The converter supports a wide range of video formats. SDI video standards include 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL. HD standards cover 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, and multiple 1080p frame rates from 23.98 fps up to 60 fps, as well as 1080i50, 1080i59.94, and 1080i60. The device complies with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, and 425M standards. SDI video rates are switchable between SD and HD, with user-selectable Level A and B for 3G-SDI via the setup utility.

Color Precision and Space

Both SDI and HDMI outputs deliver 4:2:2 color precision with YUV color space. The converter supports automatic SD, HD, and 3G-SDI signal detection for seamless switching.

HDMI Specifications

The HDMI input supports video standards including 525i29.97 NTSC, 625i50 PAL, various 720p frame rates (50, 59.94, 60 fps), 1080p frame rates (23.98 up to 60 fps), and 1080i formats (50, 59.94, 60 fps). It delivers 4:2:2 color precision and YUV color space. Note that the HDMI input cannot capture from copy-protected HDMI sources, and users must ensure they have the right to capture or distribute the content.

Settings and Software

Configuration and settings control can be done via MacOS™ (10.15 Catalina, 11.1 Big Sur, or later) and Windows™ 10 (64-bit) software utilities, connected via USB. Internal software upgrades are also supported through USB.

Power Requirements

The converter operates with a +5V universal power supply, included with international socket adapters. It has a power consumption of 2 W and supports an operational voltage range of 4.4V to 5.25V DC.

Environmental Specifications

It is designed to operate within temperatures of 0° to 40° C (32° to 104° F) and can be stored at temperatures between -20° to 60° C (-4° to 140° F). The unit supports a relative humidity range of 0% to 90% non-condensing.
