The Micro Converter HDMI to SDI 12G features two SDI video outputs that automatically match the HDMI input signal. It includes one HDMI 2.0 Type A input and supports SDI rates of 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G. With multi-rate support, the unit automatically detects SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD, and 4K formats. A USB Type-C port is available for updates, configuration, and power, while built-in reclocking ensures signal integrity across all formats.
Video Standards and Compliance
For SD formats, the converter supports 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL. HD formats include 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, and a full range of 1080p frame rates from 23.98 fps to 60 fps, along with 1080i50, 1080i59.94, and 1080i60. Ultra HD support includes resolutions up to 2160p60, while 4K DCI formats are supported up to 4Kp60. The device is fully compliant with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, 425M, 2081-1, 2081-10, 2082-1, 2082-10, 2084, and 2108-1 standards. SDI video connections can be switched between SD, HD, 2K DCI, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI formats.
Color Precision and Space
Both SDI and HDMI outputs deliver 4:2:2 color precision in YUV color space. The device also supports loading a 33-point LUT via the software utility for calibrating or enhancing monitor color reproduction. Automatic detection is available for SD, HD, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI, with user-selectable Level A and B output for 3G-SDI.
HDMI Specifications
The HDMI 2.0 input supports the same broad range of video formats as SDI, including SD, HD, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI standards at multiple frame rates. Like the SDI output, HDMI delivers 4:2:2 color precision and YUV color space with LUT support. Note that the HDMI input cannot capture from copy-protected sources; users must ensure copyright compliance when capturing or distributing content.
Settings and Software
Configuration and settings control are handled via a MacOS™ or Windows™ software utility connected by USB. Supported operating systems include Mac 10.15 Catalina, Mac 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit). Internal software updates are performed via USB.
Power Requirements
The converter operates within a voltage range of 4.4V to 5.25V DC and has a maximum power consumption of 4W.
Environmental Specifications
Operating conditions range from 0° to 40° C (32° to 104° F), with a storage temperature tolerance of -20° to 60° C (-4° to 140° F). It supports a relative humidity range of 0% to 90% non-condensing.
