Connections

The Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 3G features 1 x SD, HD or 3G-SDI video input, with SDI video outputs that automatically match the HDMI input signal. It includes an HDMI Type A input and HDMI Type A output, ensuring versatile connectivity. The unit supports multi-rate operation with automatic detection of SD or HD formats, and it is equipped with a USB Type-C port for updates, configurations, and power. SDI reclocking is also supported for optimal signal integrity.

Standards & Formats
The converter supports a wide range of broadcast standards. SDI video standards include 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL. For HD, it supports 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, as well as multiple 1080p frame rates (23.98 to 60 fps), 1080PsF, 1080i, and 2K DCI formats in progressive and PsF modes. It is compliant with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, and 425M. SDI video rates are automatically switchable between SD and HD, with user-selectable Level A or B via setup utility. The SDI color precision is 4:2:2 YUV, with automatic format detection for SD, HD, and 3G-SDI.

HDMI Standards
HDMI input and output formats include 525i29.97 NTSC and 625i50 PAL, along with 720p, 1080p, and 1080i standards in multiple frame rates. HDMI video uses 4:2:2 YUV color space. Note that the HDMI input cannot capture from copy-protected sources, and copyright permissions must always be confirmed before content use.

Camera Control & Settings
The bidirectional signal conversion supports Blackmagic Camera Control and Tally over SDI and HDMI connections. Settings can be adjusted using the MacOS or Windows software utility connected via USB.

Software & Compatibility
Compatible with Mac 10.15 Catalina, Mac 11.1 Big Sur or later, and Windows 10 (64-bit). Internal software upgrades are available via USB connection.

Power Requirements
This compact converter operates on 4.4 to 5.25V DC with a power consumption of just 2.5W.

Environmental Specifications
The operating temperature range is 0° to 40° C (32° to 104° F), while storage temperature ranges from -20° to 60° C (-4° to 140° F). It supports relative humidity from 0% to 90% non-condensing.
