Connections

The Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 12G features one SDI video input and an SDI video output that automatically matches the connected HDMI video input. It includes a single Type A HDMI 2.0 input and a Type A HDMI 2.0 output. The device supports SDI rates of 270Mb, 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G, with multi-rate compatibility that automatically detects SD, HD, 2K, Ultra HD, and 4K formats. A USB Type-C port is provided for updates, configuration, and power. Reclocking is supported for maintaining signal quality over longer cable runs.

Supported Standards
This converter supports a broad range of video formats. In SD, it handles 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL. HD formats include 720p, 1080p, 1080PsF, and 1080i at multiple frame rates. For 2K DCI, both progressive and PsF formats are supported up to 60fps. Ultra HD formats are supported up to 2160p60, while 4K DCI formats are supported up to 4Kp60 DCI. The unit complies with SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M, 424M, 425M, 2081-1, 2081-10, 2082-1, 2082-10, 2084, and 2108-1 standards. SDI connections can be switched between SD, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, 2K DCI, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI.

Color & Auto Switching
Both SDI and HDMI outputs deliver 4:2:2 color precision with YUV color space, and a 33-point LUT can be loaded via the software utility for color calibration or enhancement. The converter automatically detects SD, HD, 2K DCI, Ultra HD, and 4K DCI formats, with Level A and B detection for 3G-SDI inputs and user-selectable Level A or B for 3G-SDI outputs.

HDMI Standards
The HDMI 2.0 input and output support a wide range of standards, including SD (525i and 625i), HD (720p, 1080p, 1080i), Ultra HD (2160p), and 4K DCI formats at frame rates from 23.98 to 60fps. Color precision and LUT functionality match those of the SDI connections. The HDMI input does not support capturing from copy-protected sources, so users must ensure content rights before use.

Camera Control & Settings
Bidirectional signal conversion supports Blackmagic Camera Control and Tally functions. Device configuration and settings adjustments are managed via MacOS™ or Windows™ software utilities connected through USB. Internal software updates can also be installed via USB.

Power Requirements
The Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI 12G operates with a maximum power consumption of 5W and supports an operational voltage range of 4.4V to 5.25V DC.

Environmental Specifications
The operating temperature range is 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F), with a storage temperature range of -20° to 60°C (-4° to 140°F). Relative humidity tolerance is from 0% to 90%, non-condensing.
