The DeckLink Mini Recorder HD is equipped with professional-grade input options. It features 1 x 10-bit SD/HD switchable SDI video input, supporting SDI rates of 270Mb, 1.5G, and 3G, along with 16 channels of embedded SD/HD audio. For HDMI input, it includes 1 x HDMI 2.0 type A connector with support for 8 channels of embedded audio. The card interfaces with computers via PCI Express 1 lane generation 2, and is compatible with 1, 4, 8, and 16 lane PCI Express slots.
The card supports a wide range of professional codecs including AVC-Intra, AVCHD, Canon XF MPEG2, Digital SLR formats, DV (NTSC & PAL), DVCPRO50, DVCPROHD, DPX, HDV, HEVC, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD, and XDCAM HD422. It is also compatible with DNxHR, DNxHD, Apple ProRes (4444, 422 HQ, 422, 422 LT, 422 Proxy), and uncompressed formats in 8-bit and 10-bit 4:2:2 as well as 10-bit 4:4:4.
Included software packages are Media Express, Disk Speed Test, LiveKey, Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility, and drivers for both Mac OS and Windows. On Linux, it includes Media Express, Blackmagic Desktop Video Utility, and drivers. Firmware updates are integrated into the software driver and are automatically loaded at system start or through the updater.
The card is optimized for multiple third-party applications such as Wirecast, vMix, and OBS. It also integrates with Cinegy Capture Pro, DevTek EasyMediaSuite, Glookast Capturer, Metus Ingest, Softron MovieRecorder, ToolsOnAir just:in, Burst Video WebClip2Go, [REC]Marker, and Zoom. Support may vary, so it is recommended to verify with the software vendor.
Supported SDI video standards include 525i59.94 NTSC and 625i50 PAL for SD, and a wide range of HD formats such as 720p (50, 59.94, 60), 1080p (23.98 to 60), 1080PsF (23.98 to 30), and 1080i (50, 59.94, 60). Additionally, it supports 2K DCI formats including 2Kp (23.98 to 60) and 2KPsF (23.98 to 30).
The card is compliant with SMPTE 259M, 274M, 296M, 424M, and 425M A/B standards. It also supports RP 188/SMPTE 12M-2 metadata, closed captioning, 48 kHz 24-bit audio sampling, and high-quality color sampling of 4:2:2 and 4:4:4. Color precision includes 8, 10, and 12-bit RGB 4:4:4 up to 1080p30, and 8 or 10-bit YUV 4:2:2 across all standards, with support for REC 601, REC 709, and REC 2020 color spaces.
HDMI input supports the same video standards as SDI, including NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080p, and 1080i formats. It delivers 48 kHz 24-bit audio sampling with 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 video sampling, and supports Deep Color via HDMI 2.0. Color precision includes 8-bit RGB 4:4:4, 8-bit YUV 4:4:4, and 12-bit YUV 4:2:2, with compatibility for REC 601, REC 709, and REC 2020 color spaces. Both HDMI and SDI connections offer switchable support between SD and HD. Note: HDMI input cannot capture from copy-protected sources.
The DeckLink Mini Recorder HD includes hardware-based real-time colorspace conversion and supports multiple frame buffer formats, including v210 (10-bit YUV), 2vuy (8-bit YUV), ARGB, BGRA (8-bit RGB), r210 (10-bit RGB), and R12B/R12L (12-bit RGB).
The card supports macOS 14.0 Sonoma and macOS 15.0 Sequoia or later, Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit), and Linux distributions.
