Connections

The Blackmagic Web Presenter HD features a single SDI video input and two SDI video outputs, including one loop out and one monitor out. It supports SDI rates of 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G. For monitoring, the device provides one HDMI video output (monitor out). Additionally, it offers a USB-C connection for webcam output, supporting up to 1080p60 resolution. Ethernet connectivity is available, supporting 10/100/1000 BaseT for live streaming, software control, and firmware updates.

Standards

This device supports a wide range of HD and Ultra HD video input standards. HD formats include 720p50, 720p59.94, 720p60, as well as 1080p at frame rates from 23.98 to 60 fps. It also supports PsF formats (1080PsF23.98 to 1080PsF30) and interlaced formats (1080i50 to 1080i60). Ultra HD formats include 2160p from 23.98 to 60 fps. The video input color space options include Rec.601, Rec.709, and Rec.2020. The 3G-SDI input automatically detects SMPTE Level A or B. SDI and HDMI monitor outputs support 1080p50, 1080p59.94, and 1080p60. Streaming video standards range from 720p25 to 720p60 and 1080p23.98 to 1080p60.

Streaming

The Web Presenter HD supports direct live streaming over Ethernet using RTMP and SRT protocols in H.264 format. It also supports embedding CEA-608 and CEA-708 closed captions in RTMP streams, ensuring accessibility compliance for live broadcasts.

Control

The device features a built-in control panel with a 2.2-inch color display, enabling video preview, audio monitoring, and status checks directly from the front panel. Control is possible via the front panel, USB-C, or Ethernet connection.

Software Compatibility

Blackmagic Web Presenter HD is compatible with a wide range of platforms and software, including Facebook, Twitch, YouTube, Twitter, Restream.IO, Vimeo, BoxCast, Castr, AfreecaTV, Bilibili, DouYu, Weibo, Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, QuickTime Player, FaceTime, OBS Studio, Open Broadcaster, VLC, Wirecast Play, and Wowza Streaming Engine.

Operating Systems

The device works with macOS 13.0 Ventura and macOS 14.0 Sonoma or later, Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11, Linux, and Chrome OS.

Power Requirements

Power is supplied through an internal 100–240V AC input or a +12V DC input via a 4-pin XLR connector for external power or battery operation. The power usage is rated at 21 watts.

Environmental Specifications

The operating temperature range is 0° C to 40° C (32° F to 104° F), while storage temperatures range from -20° C to 45° C (-4° F to 113° F). The device supports relative humidity from 0% to 90% non-condensing.
