Camera Features
The camera features a Four Thirds sensor with an effective size of 17.78mm x 10mm and supports an active MFT mount for compatible lenses. It offers lens control for iris, focus, and zoom on supported lenses. With 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO (0dB and 18dB gain), it delivers excellent image quality even in challenging lighting. The camera’s sensitivity at 0dB gain is f11 at 2160p59.94 and f12 at 2160p50, measured at 2,000 lux with 89.9% reflectance. It achieves a signal-to-noise ratio of 63dB for 2160p.

Resolutions and Frame Rates
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 supports Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160) up to 60 fps. Supported frame rates include 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, and 60 fps, with off-speed recording also available up to 60 fps.

Focus and Screen
Auto focus is available with compatible lenses. The camera includes a 7-inch, 1920 x 1200 LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 600 nits of brightness, rotary settings dial, assignable function buttons (F1–F3), and dedicated dials for brightness, contrast, and peaking.

Mounting Options
Mounting options include two 1/4-inch tripod mounts and one 3/8-inch tripod mount for added flexibility.

Connections
Connectivity includes one SDI video input and one SDI video output with support for 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G SDI rates. HDMI 2.0 output is also provided. For audio, the camera features a 3.5mm stereo input (which can also be used for timecode input) and a 3.5mm TRRS headphone/mic output. The reference input is via the program SDI input. USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 (x2) ports enable external recording and lens control.

Audio
It includes a built-in stereo microphone and a mono speaker. SDI and HDMI audio outputs support 2 channels of embedded program audio (plus SDI talkback on channels 15 and 16).

Video Standards
HD standards supported include 1080i50/59.94/60 and 1080p at various frame rates up to 60. For Ultra HD, the camera supports 2160p at 23.98 through 60 fps.

SDI & HDMI Compliance
SDI standards comply with SMPTE 292M, 424M, 425M level A/B, 2081-1/10, and 2082-1/10. Audio sampling for SDI and HDMI is 48 kHz at 24-bit.

Media & Recording
Media is recorded to USB-C drives, formatted to ExFAT or HFS+. Supported codecs include Blackmagic RAW in both Constant Bitrate (3:1, 5:1, 8:1, 12:1) and Constant Quality (Q0, Q1, Q3, Q5) formats.

Camera Control
Supports external control via Blackmagic Focus Demand and Zoom Demand. SDI and HDMI interfaces allow integration with ATEM switchers for control over camera settings, lens parameters, color correction, tally, and media recording. Also includes REST API over USB Ethernet for HTTP-based control.

Networking and File Access
Supports NTP for time synchronization, web media manager for file access and deletion, FTP for file downloads, and SMB for file sharing.

Color Correction
Features DaVinci YRGB color corrector built-in.

Talkback and Tally
Live tally indicators are present on both the front (for talent) and rear (for operator). Talkback is supported via SDI channels 15 and 16.

Software
Includes Blackmagic Camera Setup for Mac and Windows.
