Camera Features
The Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Plus G2 features a 17.78mm x 10mm Four Thirds sensor with an active MFT mount, supporting iris, focus, and zoom control on compatible lenses. It delivers 13 stops of dynamic range and uses dual native ISO at 0dB and 18dB gain. Sensitivity at 0dB gain is rated at f11 (2160p59.94) and f12 (2160p50) at 2,000 lux with 89.9% reflectance. The camera achieves a 63dB signal-to-noise ratio for 2160p. It supports Ultra HD 3840 x 2160 recording up to 60fps with selectable frame rates from 23.98 to 60fps, including off-speed recording. Auto-focus is available with compatible lenses.

Display and Controls
The built-in 7-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen offers a 1920 x 1200 resolution and 600 nits brightness, with rotary settings dial, program button, three assignable function buttons (F1–F3), and dedicated brightness, contrast, and peaking dials. The camera can be mounted via two 1/4-inch and one 3/8-inch tripod mounts.

Connections
Video connections include 1 x SDI input, 1 x SDI output (supporting 1.5G, 3G, 6G, and 12G rates), and 1 x HDMI 2.0 output. Audio is handled through 1 x 3.5mm stereo input (also usable as timecode input) and 1 x 3.5mm TRRS mini jack for headphones with microphone support. A program SDI input serves as reference input. SDI audio output includes 2 channels of program audio plus 2 talkback channels on channels 15 and 16. Remote camera control is possible over SDI, HDMI, or USB Ethernet.

Audio
The camera integrates a stereo microphone and a mono speaker for monitoring. Audio over SDI and HDMI is sampled at 48kHz, 24-bit in compliance with television standards.

It features two USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 expansion ports for external media recording in Blackmagic RAW to ExFAT or HFS+ file systems. Supported codecs include Blackmagic RAW constant bitrate (3:1, 5:1, 8:1, 12:1) and constant quality (Q0, Q1, Q3, Q5). Storage rates vary from 26MB/s to 190MB/s depending on compression and image complexity.

Control and Networking
The camera supports Blackmagic Zoom Demand and Blackmagic Focus Demand controls, as well as ATEM switcher integration for camera control, tally, color correction, and external media recording. REST API over USB Ethernet allows remote control via HTTP applications, and networking features include NTP time sync, web media manager, FTP file transfer, and SMB file sharing.

Color Correction and Talkback
The camera uses the DaVinci YRGB color corrector and offers front and rear tally indicators for live production. Talkback is enabled via SDI channels 15 and 16.

Software Compatibility
The camera is compatible with Blackmagic Camera Setup for Mac and Windows, supporting Mac 13.0 Ventura or later and Windows 10/11.

Power Requirements
Power is supplied through an external 12V DC 60W power adapter with locking connector. It consumes 15–22W during operation.
