Connections & Interface
The Blackmagic Cloud Dock 2 features two hot-swappable 2.5-inch U.2 SSD or SATA drive bays, supporting drives up to 11mm in height. For high-speed connectivity, it includes two 10G BASE-T Ethernet ports and a USB 3.0 (USB-C) port with up to 5Gb/s transfer rate. The USB-C interface also supports Ethernet over USB, allowing flexibility in setups and configuration.
Computer Interface & Network Sharing
You can access the Cloud Dock 2 via Ethernet or USB-C for shared file access, configuration, and software updates. It supports the SMB (Server Message Block) protocol for file sharing, with support for up to 50 simultaneous computer connections, making it ideal for collaborative media workflows.
Cloud Synchronization
The device supports Blackmagic Cloud for seamless global collaboration and also offers Amazon Web Services S3 sync, enabling efficient cloud backup and distributed file sharing.
Storage & File System Compatibility
Users can bring their own drives to the Cloud Dock 2. It is compatible with ExFAT (Windows/Mac) and HFS+ (Mac) file systems, ensuring maximum flexibility across operating systems and project types.
Monitoring & Display
The dock includes an HDMI monitoring output supporting 1080p50, 1080p59.94, and 1080p60, allowing users to connect a display for real-time status monitoring. Onscreen information includes device name, drive capacity and usage, cloud sync status, user activity, hardware status, storage map, and network performance graphs. LED bezel indicators around the SSD bays provide at-a-glance visual status.
Software & Compatibility
Included software consists of the Blackmagic Cloud Setup Utility and Blackmagic Proxy Generator Lite. Firmware upgrades are managed via USB-C using the Cloud Setup Utility. The device is compatible with Mac OS Sonoma 14.3 or later, Windows 10 (64-bit), and Windows 11.

The Cloud Dock 2 includes an internal 100–240V AC power supply with an IEC C14 mains input. Power usage is approximately 25W without SSDs installed.
