The ATEM SDI Pro ISO offers a wide range of professional connections to support versatile live production needs. It comes with 4 total video inputs and 3 total outputs, including 2 dedicated program outputs and 2 auxiliary outputs. Audio is supported through 2 x 3.5mm stereo mini jacks as inputs, while audio outputs are embedded only. The switcher features 4 x 3G-SDI inputs with 10-bit HD switching and 2-channel embedded audio, complete with input re-sync and frame rate/format converters on all inputs. For connectivity, it includes Ethernet (10/100/1000 BaseT) for live streaming, software control, and updates, along with a USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 1 interface for external drive recording, webcam output, and software control.

Standards and Video Support

This model supports a comprehensive range of video formats. HD video input standards include 720p50/59.94/60 and multiple 1080p/i variations up to 1080p60. The output standards mirror the input, supporting resolutions up to 1080p60. Video streaming standards are also supported at 1080p up to 60fps. Video is processed at 10-bit 4:2:2 YUV sampling, adhering to Rec 709 color space, with real-time hardware-based colorspace conversion. Ultra HD standards are not supported on this model.

Keying and Effects

The ATEM SDI Pro ISO provides robust keying and layering options, making it ideal for live productions. It includes 1 upstream keyer, 1 downstream keyer, and 1 advanced chroma keyer. Additionally, there are 2 linear/luma keyers and DVE-only transition keying, supporting up to 5 simultaneous layers. For creative control, it offers 1 pattern generator, 2 color generators, and DVE with borders and drop shadows.

Audio Capabilities

The built-in 6-input x 2-channel audio mixer delivers advanced sound management. Each channel features selectable On/Off/Audio-Follow-Video, gain control, and peak metering. Enhanced Fairlight audio tools are included, offering compressor, gate, limiter, and 6-band parametric EQ. Analog stereo input is supported, with up to 8-frame delay, 1.8k impedance, and +6dBV max input. Plug-in power is available on both 3.5mm mini jack connections, ensuring microphone compatibility.

Streaming and Recording

Designed for modern workflows, the ATEM SDI Pro ISO supports direct live streaming via RTMP over Ethernet or shared mobile internet through USB-C. For recording, the USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 port enables direct external media recording. Video is captured as H.264 MP4 files, including 4 SDI ISO inputs recorded at up to 70Mb/s with AAC audio, and 1 program out recorded at streaming quality. Audio is also recorded separately as 24-bit 48KHz WAV files, covering all analog and embedded SDI inputs. Additionally, program switching is saved as a DaVinci Resolve project file, streamlining post-production workflows.

Monitoring and Media

For monitoring, the switcher features a multi-view output with 10 configurable views, including program/preview, SDI inputs, media player, streaming, recording, and audio meters. Media handling is supported through 1 media player channel and a media pool capacity of 20 still images, compatible with formats such as PNG, TGA, BMP, GIF, JPEG, and TIFF.

Control Options

The ATEM SDI Pro ISO includes a built-in control panel, with compatibility for optional ATEM hardware panels. The free ATEM Software Control Panel is available for both Mac and Windows. It also integrates with ATEM Micro, 1 M/E, 2 M/E, and 4 M/E Advanced Panels, as well as the ATEM Camera Control Panel. Connectivity is provided via Ethernet or USB-C, both of which also support software updates.

Software and Configuration

Software updates and configuration are handled via USB or Ethernet using the ATEM Setup Utility. Switcher configuration can be performed through the ATEM Software Control Panel, with the exception of IP addressing, which is set via USB. The system is compatible with MacOS 14.0 Sonoma or later, MacOS 15.0 Sequoia, and Windows 10/11.

Power and Environmental Specs

The unit is powered by an external 12V supply, consuming only 36W. It operates within a temperature range of 5° to 40°C and can be safely stored from -10° to 60°C, with 0%–90% non-condensing humidity tolerance.
